Friday, January 16, 2026 (6:00 PM - 7:00 PM) (EST)

Description

Founded in 1775 by Prince Hall, Prince Hall Freemasonry is the oldest continuously operating Black organization in the United States. Rooted in community service, leadership, education, and moral development, Prince Hall Masonry has played a vital role in African American history for more than two centuries.

In this program, Mike Kegler will explore the origins of Prince Hall Freemasonry and its history in Nassau County, including the story of Thomas Sterling Delaney—the oldest known Prince Hall Mason in Florida—and Prince Hall Masonry’s ties to the U.S. Colored Troops stationed on Amelia Island.
