POSITION SUMMARY: The Retail Branch Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the daily operations of the branch to ensure exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, and achievement of sales and growth objectives. This role requires a dynamic leader who embodies First Port City Bank’s core values of being positive, professional, and productive in every interaction—with customers, team members, and the community. The Retail Branch Manager will cultivate a high-performing team environment by coaching and developing staff, promoting a culture of accountability, and fostering strong customer relationships, leading by example. This position also ensures compliance with bank policies and procedures, manages risk, and drives the delivery of high-quality financial solutions tailored to customer needs. *Pay based on qualifications and experience.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Set the expectations for the overall customer experience by demonstrating a strong work ethic and providing extraordinary service to each customer.

· Drives all aspects of the retail sales and service process for a specific location. Develop branch sales plans to increase market share. Promotes, explains, and sells banking products and services. Take necessary action daily to service customers and provide adequate staff coverage, including backup in the teller area, and new accounts.

· Supervises a front-line team, primarily Tellers and Personal Bankers. Coaches and develops employees, establishes goals and evaluates individual performance of direct reports. Inspire the bank’s culture characterized by teamwork and high morale. To include ongoing Team Building exercises. Ensures effective, regular communication across all regions, markets, and locations.

· Assumes responsibility for retention of customer relationships. Develops and implements plans to call on maturing accounts, sales leads, referrals, new account follow-up, and other prospecting opportunities for the designated market area. Proactively identifies sales opportunities with an emphasis on maximizing profitable client relationships. Tracks results and follows up as appropriate.

· Strategize to generate deposits, increasing average collected balances on an annual basis, with a customary focus on managing the cost of funds. Manages and maintains relationships of both existing and new relationships. Ensures policy and regulatory requirements are consistent and guidance followed. Based on the market, loan origination authority can be granted.

· Authorizes transactions in accordance with bank policy and regulatory guidance (e.g., deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, wire transfers, etc.). Addresses and resolves client concerns and inquiries. Ensures accountability for audit integrity, risk management, and security of the branch. Maintains thorough product knowledge of all Retail bank products.

 

 ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Engages in business development efforts through involvement in community and civic activities, while expanding market visibility. Building a rapport with the customers and the community.

· Facilitates Team meetings on a consistent basis. Implements new products and services; enhances processes and procedures; facilitates best practices; and stimulates individual participation to promote brand culture. Maintain training records and resources for compliance and regulatory documentation.

· Effective communication, communicating clearly, concisely, early, timely and often, delivering corporate expectations of safe and sound operations, controlling exposure, and minimizing risk.

· Collaborates with management on special projects, duties or responsibilities as assigned.

· Review and decision assigned branch overdrafts.

· Retail Branch Manager should demonstrate that they are willing to perform in any retail capacity and that no task is too trivial or outside of their responsibility.

 

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

Preferred Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field.

 

Experience

· 3+ years branch banking experience

· 2+ years front line service and client interaction

· Strong understanding of banking regulations and compliance

 

Preferred Experience

· Leadership 101

· Banking School Graduate
