Job Site Volunteer Coordinator
This role is to support and ensure our Volunteers feel welcomed and are provided with direction, true engagement, and a contributing opportunity.
Duties & Task
- Communication with Community Engagement Coordinator about current week’s scheduled workdays, teams, and any volunteer related information pertinent to the construction tasks that week.
- The typical work week is usually Wednesday and Saturday from 7:45 AM - 12:30 PM. Other days may be assigned. No Sundays or Holidays.
- Complete “Competence Person” Training. This is an online training regarding all safety rules and regulations regarding construction sites.
- Partner with our Lead Volunteer Construction Supervisor who determines the tasks that need to be completed or worked on for a given day. This will allow you to prepare for the volunteers and provide direction as they are teamed with core or experienced volunteers for activities.
- Greet volunteers and make them feel welcomed. Actively engage and communicate with all volunteers.
- Have each volunteer sign in to make sure we capture their hours. This may be done manually or electronically depending on the venue. Manual sheets will be provided if needed. Double check to see if they have signed a Volunteer Release and Waiver form. If they have not done so electronically, then we need them to manually read and sign the paper versions.
- During the day be sure to consistently check in with each team to ensure they understand the task and are also being productive. We want them to accomplish as much as can during their volunteer time.
- You may be asked to run and pick up miscellaneous needs for projects and or water, Gatorade (at the office) coffee, donuts. Direction to be provided each week or workday.
- At the end of day ask our volunteers for feedback on their experience and submit the volunteer signup sheets and waivers to the Community Engagement Coordinator.
- Reporting and scheduling to the Community Engagement Coordinator.
Must be willing to do light construction tasks and have no physical limitations. This job requires standing, sitting, and moving around an active construction area. Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs. Must have current driver's license with clean record. Background check and drug test.
