Team Lead - Key Holder

Summary/Objectives:

The Team Lead - Key Holder is responsible for opening and/or closing the store and ensuring that the proper store procedures are followed when store management is not on duty or unavailable on the floor. The Team Lead - Key Holder will oversee sales, merchandising, customer services, proper security functions, and all operational functions in the absence of store management.

  • Manage sales floor and drives retail by addressing customer concerns, coaching employees and volunteers, and mitigating production loss in the absence of store management.
  • Ensure that daily merchandising flexing process, daily replenishment process, and store cleanliness standards are properly executed when opening or closing.
  • Open and closes the store following proper procedures documented in the opening and closing policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that registers are properly opened and closed, doors are opened and locked and alarms are set correctly.
  • Remain current on all company policies and ensure that all policies, standards and procedures are maintained and followed in a consistent manner.
  • Stays current and up to date on all store systems.
  • Greet customers in a polite and professional manner and offer assistance. 
  • Support all backroom efforts as requested or needed to ensure donated items are moved to the sales floor in a timely manner.
  • Support cashier as requested or needed.  Responsible for accurate accounting of monies received, sales transactions, paperwork, and bank deposits.
  • Ensure store management is informed on any store facility and supply requirements.  

Competency (knowledge, skills, abilities):  

1.  Demonstrated competency in sales, products and service.

2.  Proven ability to motivate and lead diverse teams.

3.  Knowledge of retail merchandising practices.

4.  Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PP).

5.  Solid communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast- paced environment.

6. Possess excellent management and planning skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position schedules and manages employees/volunteers when store management is not on duty or unavailable on the floor. 

  • Key Carrying Team Lead who’s able to travel between store locations
  • 24-30 hours a week max
  • Consistent staging of merchandise between stores
  • Training of Volunteers
  • Associate follow-up training (Relias and Cyber Security
  • Assist in hourly associate review writing
  • Store event planning (holidays and birthdays)
  • Associate and volunteer recognition
  • Coverage for opening and closing the store.
  • Tracking of Sales and Promotions.
  • Bringing to my attention morale opportunities to be addressed (associates/volunteers)
  • Customer Service opportunities

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional retail environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. 

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.  On a regular basis requires the ability to move and/or lift 50 pounds.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are flexible and are scheduled Monday through Saturday, 8:30  a.m. to 6:30 p.m.  Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel:

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience:

High School degree or equivalent with 2 years relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience. 

Preferred Education and Experience:

A concentration in merchandising preferred.
