About

Welcome to Fernandina Beach on quaint Amelia Island. Beach Junki created the Washed-Up Project to inspire the community to keep our pristine beach clean and safe for nesting sea turtles. We have 3 initiatives that have been installed at local public beach accesses to bring awareness to sea turtles and the ocean pollution that is washing up. We are proud of our two ocean art pieces that were constructed from colorful plastic marine debris by two local artists. Our first art project is our Amelia the Sea Turtle that is located at Seaside Park along with the Beach Toy Treasure Chest and our Beach Clean-Up Baskets. Our second ocean art themed project is the Shrimpers Paradise displayed at Main Beach along with our Beach Toy Borrow Box and Beach Clean-Up Baskets.  We also received a grant from the Sea Turtle Grants Program for our Sea Turtle Education Sign Project. You can look for our sea turtle awareness signs at 48 different public beach accesses in the city of Fernandina Beach.
